At the end of September Wellantcollege received 19 students cultivation (vegetables, flowers and fruit) and 2 teachers from our Japanese partner school Norin Daigaku in Shizuoka. It is the fifteenth year that Wellantcollege facilitates this exchange.
The program consisted of a visit to Wellantcollege Houten and various companies. In Houten, the Japanese students learned about Wellantcollege and they received a tour around the school and the nearby outdoor areas. They also attended a few lessons where Wellant students and teachers told about their work.
During the four-day excursion program, a garden center and several companies in the field of floriculture, arboriculture, fruit growing, dairy farming and dairy processing were visited. As most of the companies were internship companies, they also met trainees and alumni of Wellantcollege. Once again the students look back on a top experience.
Work placement for Wellant students in Japan
At the start of 2019, a number of Food and Urban Green Development students from Wellantcollege Amsterdam will travel to Japan for their internship abroad. Our Japanese partner school Norin Daigaku is currently looking for suitable work placements. Wellantcollege is committed to give students who excel at their level the opportunity to gain an extra challenging learning experience abroad. Within Europe and in some cases also outside Europe.
