Early June 270 first-year VET students from Wellantcollege visited London for a study trip. They were accompanied by 21 teachers from various fields of study. During the study week, the students visited a variety of schools and companies and made assignments about this. The Dutch participants reported their experiences in English as study assignment.

Students from the Wellant schools in Houten, Gouda, Rijswijk, Dordrecht and Gorinchem took part in this excursion, having various vocational training backgrounds such as Equine Sports & Management, Dairy Farming, Animal Care, Veterinary Assistant, Gardening and Floristry.

 

Each program had its own customized schedule. The equestrian management students paid a visit to Newmarket, the heart of the racing world and Hadlow College, where they were shown a demonstration of an aqua trainer in the horse pool.

Dairy Production students visited several farms, including the organic farm Henden Manor Estate.

Students Animal Care went to Liberty's Owl, Raptor and Reptile Centre and the London Wetland Centre.

The Veterinary Assistant students visited the Blue Cross Animal Hospital and the Royal Veterinary College.

Gardening students visited various gardens and parks, including Hyde Park and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Floristry students paid a visit to the Design Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, the world's largest museum for decorative art and design.
